"FAT FREDDY's Magazine Comic-Book" Series
DEMOGRAPHICS:

Following is based on over 30 heritage years in the counter culture world, since having started the original HEAD SHOP LTD in 1965. Then, as now, marketing was essential in displaying a uniqueness of where the future could and would go. I was determined to develop new products for an industry that barely knew it existed. Since then I have developed international distribution and affiliation systems based on several long term relationships relative to publishing.

Laurence Cherniak is of the 3rd generation in his family that has a strong background with the printing and publishing business. Two of his most important magazine exploits enjoy landmark status in publishing history. In 1992 he produced and published The MacWorld Expo Show Guide for which he was graciously applauded by The MacWorld Expo People for his promotion of that event in his publication The Bulletin Board Magazine. Under his experience in promotions the attendance increaded over 25% from the year before. In that same year with the same publication which soared in popularity to the top of the media scene in Toronto, Canada Mr. Cherniak qualified and was welcome to cover Baseball's 1992 World Series Champions. His tribute to the Toronto Blue Jays is the most comprehensive material ever published in praising of the champions that year.

With a devoted audience built up during the last 25 years Mr. Cherniak enjoys a worldwide following which has also given an international distribution system. In the USA this includes over 2,000, hemp, cannabis or chronic head shops, located in approx 500 cities and towns. List of the towns and cities available at the two followsing links.

With this long history as one of the lasting personalities of the countre culture it provides him with an enormous data base, the beginnings, of which are listed on these web pages.

For the sake of recognitions we herein include several notes on a few of his many other achievements or direct you to the cherniak home page of his web site of which he is the webmaster. The achievements are displayed for the purposes of identifying Laurence's strong artist background which has a clear understanding that his participating in all the necessary complimentary activities of marketing, promotions, public relations, advertising and primarily distribution are essential to the process of recognition and fame.

"On behalf of the Board of Directors of the TorontoArts Awards Foundation, I'd like to welcome you and thank you for being part of the second annual Toronto Arts Awards...and the Inaugural Toronto Arts Week.

In 1986, the Toronto Arts Awards launched an important new tradition for the city and a first for North America. Then in 1987, Toronto continued that tradition by honoring eight extraordinary people, each of whom has created a special kind of artistic magic and, in so doing greatly enriched our lives."

LAURENCE & the MIMES at the Awards Evening and Banquet Dinner for 1,400 people.

That night the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation had 6 mimes from Quebec dressed up in the outfits as created in the painting "My Honey and Me" moving silently throughout the auditorium, audience and performing on stage as well as kindly posing with the artist.

Virtually a dream come true for any painter is to see one of their paintings come to life as these mimes did on that special night while they entertained people at the 1st Annual Toronto Arts Week's Awards.
